On very rare occasions, one must visit The Globe in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to experience elegant dining on top of one of the highest building in Saudi Arabia, Al Faisaliah Tower. Having been here twice I enjoyed the ambiance and the scenic view.

Food. Food in The Globe is mostly Western or modern European. The menu is ever changing over time – not really sure the frequency. You will expect a very fine dining experience here with excellent presentation of the meal. The Cream of duck foie gras is almost always available. On my second visit, I had Pan fried Australian lamb tenderloin for my main course that has Pattison pumpkin, tomato and pecan nuts. Not used to these kinds of meal, the food is good with mild flavors infused on it.

It’s also notable to mention that the restaurant has Oven roasted Wagyu beef fillet that is served with black truffle (I only learned about black truffle in European TV Food shows), braised cabbage, rose hip- shallots and Cox orange apple. This meal is priced at SR311.

Service. Servers are very helpful as expected for a first class restaurant. You will be well attended from start to finish.

Ambiance. The atmosphere is fantastic. The Globe exceeds an elegant style of dining with captivating view of the city. The lighting may be too dim for me but it is right for relaxing dining experience. The dim light gave me had time taking photos and I’m not that skilful yet adjusting the settings of the DSLR camera so posted here were not that excellent.

Price. The Globe restaurant is the place for patrons with no money problems. It is one of the high-luxury restaurants in Saudi Arabia. But yes, the food is well cooked and service is great as well as the excellent ambiance. So, it is justifiable. That is why, I initially mentioned it is a must visit on rare occasions for people on average budget.

The Cream of duck foie gras costs SR127 while Pan fried Australian lamb tenderloin priced SR196
