Greek salad is almost available in every restaurant I’ve been to. Of course, authentic in Greece, this salad is very popular even in American restaurants. It is always containing sliced or cubed feta cheese as the main ingredient.  Other ingredients included are sliced tomatoes, cucumber, green bell peppers, red onion, and Kalamata olives, characteristically seasoned with salt and dried oregano, and dressed with olive oil. Common accompaniments also include the pickled leaves, capers, rocket lettuce, vinegar or lemon juice, and chopped parsley.

The preparation of Greek salad is really dependent on the interpretation of the person or chef preparing this. I find a lot of variation many times. One particular Greek salad I like is from Breakfast to Breakfast Restaurant in Riyadh. The preparation is not that authentically Greece, but I like the combinations of veggies. breakfast to breakfast riyadhI specifically like Greek salad, mainly because of the flavour of the feta cheese. But I must say, I only like those feta cheeses that have mild flavour. The combination of various green vegetables may vary from the one who prepared this. But I think, what is distinct for the Greek salad is of course the feta cheese. I find this salad a very healthy treat. I made sure, if I feel too full dining in a restaurant, I will immediately look for salad in the menu, and most often, I choose Greek salad.
